Sustainability Communications Coordinator - 502050

Building on a strong foundation of campus sustainability progress, the Sustainability Communications Coordinator is responsible for handling the Office for Sustainability’s multimedia communications efforts in multiple formats, including the web, social media, and print. The coordinator will also support the Office for Sustainability with event planning and scheduling. This is a 20-hour per week position.

• Draft and publish sustainability content on multiple communication platforms, including the website, newswire, and social media outlets.
• Generate content for and manage the monthly email newsletter and e-mail listserv.
• Design and develop material for web and print publications in support of sustainability outreach, programming, and special projects.
• Coordinate event planning and event scheduling with the Director of Sustainability.
• Complete administrative tasks as needed, including purchasing, reservations, and data entry.
• Support the collection and analysis of data related to outreach and communications for use in campus sustainability assessments and reporting.

• Professional communication skills, including multimedia writing and public speaking
• Aptitude for graphic design and layout
• Ability to learn and grasp new software applications as necessary to proficiently manage the area of responsibility   
• Applied knowledge of sustainability principles and actions preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Experience with university sustainability programs is preferred 

• 20 hour a week position (part-time/nonexempt). 
• Hours will typically fall Monday – Friday between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
• Some flexibility to work evenings or weekends based on need.
• This is a limited-term position, not to exceed 2 years, with possibility of renewal.
