Psychology: Assistant Professor of Health Psychology - 000469

The Department of Psychology at the University of Richmond continues to invite applications for a tenure track position in Health Psychology. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who will contribute to our goals of developing a diverse and inclusive community and/or whose program of research focuses on health disparities. Individuals with backgrounds across the field of psychology (Clinical, Counseling, Developmental, Social, Cognitive, Cognitive Neuroscience, Community, etc.) with relevance for health will be considered for the position.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all levels of the curriculum and to maintain a dynamic research program that engages undergraduate students in substantive research outcomes.

Applicants will be asked to submit a cover letter, a statement of teaching interests and philosophy, evidence of teaching effectiveness (if available), a description of current and planned research programs, and a current curriculum vita. Applicants will also be asked to submit the names of three references who will receive an email asking them to submit their reference letter to this website.  At least one of the three letters of recommendation should address teaching effectiveness or potential. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide a brief video demonstration of teaching effectiveness. Review of applications is currently underway and will continue on a rolling basis until the position is filled, with a goal to hire for the 2017-18 academic year.
